FIND FREE BUSINESS LEADS USING CHAMBER DIRECTORIES
Use
Google.com to find the website of your local Chamber of Commerce (Type
the following keywords and phrases into the Google.com search box: Your
City Name and Chamber of Commerce. For example, if you live in Phoenix
then you would type: Phoenix and Chamber of Commerce.)
To
find the member directory you need to look for buttons or links such as
"Business Directory," or "Member Directory." Sometimes chambers make
you search around their website a little to find their member
directory. In other cases, they only issue a printed version of their
directory. If you are not a member, they probably will not mail it to
you, however, many chambers leave their directories in their lobby.
Still
cannot find a printed directory? Many times you can go to your local
City Hall and they have a local chamber directory in their lobby as
well!
When
you finally access their member directory many chambers allow you to
select certain industries (i.e. In a drop-down menu) or type in
specific keywords to select companies of interest.
What
kind of information can you expect to find in a member directory? You
will always see the full company name, address, phone and fax. Other
less common types of information that you may view include the member contact name, title, email address and company information (i.e. Company background information).
