FIND FREE BUSINESS LEADS ON INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION WEBSITES
Every business profession has their own industry association.
Use Google.com to
find the websites of local, state or national industry associations (Type the following
keywords and phrases into the Google.com search box: Your City Name or State and Your Prospect's Profession and Association). For example, if you currently live in Dallas and targeting builders then you would
type: Dallas and Builders and Association.
The more specific that you are when typing in your target prospect's profession then the more specific your results will be!
To find the member
directory you need to look for buttons or links such as "Business
Directory," or "Member Directory." Sometimes associations make you search
around their website a little to find their member directory. In other
cases, they only issue a printed version of their directory. If you are
not a member, they probably will not mail it to you, however, if you inquire about becoming a member they may send you a courtesy directory.
When you finally
do access their member directory many associations allow you to select certain
industries, industry sub-categories (i.e. In a drop-down menu) or type in specific keywords to
select companies and business professionals of interest.
What kind of
information can you expect to find in a member directory? You will
always see the full company name, address, phone and fax. Other less
common types of information that you may view include the member
contact name, title, email address and company information (i.e.
Company background information).
If you cannot find an association on Google.com then try another search engine. Sometimes you will see one association listed on one search engine and not another one.
Another way to locate industry associations is on your prospect's website. If your prospect is a member of an industry association chances are they may include a logo of that association on their website. Once you see this, try clicking on it or typing in the name of the association into Google. When you eventually find this site then your next step is to locate their member directory and this means you now have additional business leads for your sales pipeline!
